World of warcraft has various skill levels in different continent and kingdom areas of the world that you must complete prior to your advancement. The general break out of leveling is Level 1-20, Level 20-40, Level 40-60, Level 60-70, Level 70-80 and Level 80 plus. Make sure that when you start your character you turn on auto loot.  You can find that option in the Interface Options menu.

You really need to make WoW gold before you attempt and big quests.  This is because you need to be able to buy some good weapons and protective armor.  You need gold to progress more quickly so be sure this is a focus for you in the beginning.

When you go to auctions make sure you have the four biggest bags you can afford. And keep on the lookout for gear that is a few levels beyond your current level. That way as you progress you have the equipment you need. Be aware of trading rules and most importantly the pricing of items.  This will allow you to know later in the game which items to make or collect for the most profit at the auction house.

Part of leveling up a World of Warcharft character, a player must complete quests that vary in level of difficulty.  As you are doing quests, go to the quest helpers in the game to help you complete your tasks.  These work as a sort of quest guide for you.  Players also do quests in groups like for raids so be sure to communicate with other more experienced players as they may be able to give you some good advice.  Also be sure to visit your profession trainers to help you to level up a WoW Character.

World of Warcraft Cataclysm Guide

This new expansion has brought with it changes across the board that affect lore, quests, level content, instances new player vs. player areas and cinematics.  The incredibly huge multi-player role game, with over 12 million players globally, can be a little intimidating to new players and with the changes with Cataclysm it may be a little intimidating to experienced players.  Having a WoW guide can help ease some of that anxiety.  And because the cost of the game has gone down I think you will be seeing an influx of more new players.
